When fishing offshore for yellowfin tuna, you probably have your favorite spots to hit that always produce for you. But what if you are in a new location and you don't know exactly where the fish are?
Here is a simple tip for you - to find tuna, yellowfin in particular, just keep your eyes out for dolphin. Tuna and dolphin tend to school together so, if you see dolphin, the tuna you are after are usually not far behind. This probably goes without saying, however, be extremely careful not to hook into a dolphin! They are a protected species and, with all the hub-bub in the past about them getting caught in tuna nets, they must not taste very good either. Oh, and keep a large supply of circle hooks on hand if using cut or live bait - they provide great hook-sets and are much easier to remove.
